I love the 4th of July. It could be my favorite holiday! I am so grateful for a beautiful country to live in and all of the freedoms we enjoy. We went to the Logan fireworks and had a great time! We just sat in the back of the pickup and enjoyed the show.
We took a picnic up to Williams Lake with all of the cousins. This is everyone "safely" piled into the back of Grandpa's truck. (Peyton didn't make even half way there before he was car sick and had to ride up front.) We had a great time. The water was still cold, but that didn't stop anyone from getting wet - especially Peyton who fell in the water. Cannon couldn't comprend the depth of the lake and would have jumped in if it weren't for my death hold. Tanner, Masenn, Nate, Kaylee, Lila, Saleena
My dad took us shooting while we were in Salmon - mostly 22 rifles and pistols. I felt pretty bad when ever I hit the target!! My boys (Corey included) loved it.
We had the Cheney Family Reunion this year in Salmon. My Grandpa, Raymond Cheney, is the only one still alive out all of his brothers and sisters. It was a small reunion, but fun to hear stories of the past and get reacquainted with relatives!
I thought this was the cutest picture. Peyton had his best game of the season - he got his first hits. He hit the ball and stood there a little stunned and then ran for first base. Corey and I were so proud of this little "Cardinal"!!
Yea - We are finally camping. For years Corey has been telling me that you can't camp without a trailer. Well after saving and searching we finally got a camp trailer. This was our first camping trip and we had a great time. We went up Blacksmith Fork Canyon to Squaw Flats. They boys loved it! Cannon was in his element being surrounded by dirt and sticks and Peyton was so content without me telling him to "hurry up"all the time! We were sitting around the campfire the first night and Peyton told Corey and I several times that "This is the life." We all had to agree.
Cannon got a mosquito bite on his cheek. He kept showing the bite to me and calling it a "moley".
Cannon was more interested in his lantern than the picture.
I've discovered that Peyton loves fire. Note to self - hide all matches! :)
Girls Camp was up Cub River at the Willow Flats campground in Idaho. It was so much fun to get to know the girls more - even with all of the rain. There were lots of downpours, but also lots of fun. I loved the testimony meeting - always the highlight. I could have done without the nightly visits from the skunks!! Love you girls!
On Peyton's list of things to do this summer was go to a museum. Grandma and Grandpa were visiting, so we went to the Museum of Anthropology at USU. It wasn't very big, but it was very interesting.
I thought that the most interesting exihibit was Otzi the iceman. He was frozen in the Alps and discovered about 5300 years after he died. He had hunting tools with him, they knew his last meal and had several speculations as to his death. Good way to spend an afternoon!
